I know that this article will probably anger some USAmericans. After all, we can tend to be defensive, thin-skinned, and touchy. But let’s face it: USAmericans have a worldwide, traditional reputation for being obnoxious, ignorant travelers. Is that really true? And, if so, why? Moreover, what can we do about it? I propose that travelers from the US can use food diplomacy to break down cultural barriers and stereotypes. Also, I use the term USAmerican because America includes two continents with 36 modern countries, and dozens of indigenous nations in them, so I do not think it is fair to categorize only one of those countries as America.
Dear Readers, Friends, and Fellow Foodies:
For years now, it is has been my dream to create China’s first and only pure, comprehensive culinary and restaurant review and guide. Think of it as the Guide Michelin, but for China and Asia. We want to start the guide soon here in Kunming, Yunnan Province, home to many interesting cuisines and specialty foods.
We have begun an Indiegogo campaign to raise $5,000 for the startup costs. Please consider a contribution of any amount toward this project, that will bridge culinary worlds: East and West. To contribute, please click here. All contributors will be included in the formation of this very important culinary work, and will be invited to take part in our television premier next year, as well as a culinary tour of China! Remember, no contribution is too small or too big. As always, thank you for reading!
Food Ergo Love is happy to announce that we have broken the 40,000 hit mark! Thank you sincerely to all of our readers, and please continue to join us as we explore the world of food! As always, if you wish to contact us, please feel free to do so at any time.
